Our roasting process

From raw green beans to fresh roast

Six steps, start to finish, all of them done by hand in Wabash, Indiana. This is the whole operation — there is nothing else behind it.

  1. A founder at the roaster controls, green beans tumbling behind the drum window.

    Step 1: Roast the Beans

After we load the beans, we watch them change color as they roast.

  2. Roasted beans being discharged from the roaster into the cooling tray.

    Step 2: Cool & Inspect

We let the beans cool and take a look at the finished roast.

  3. A Grounded Coffee tin being filled beneath the grinder.

    Step 3: Grind & Fill

Next, we grind the beans and fill them in our custom tins.

  4. A filled tin being sealed on the can seamer.

    Step 4: Spin & Seal

We use a special machine to seal the ground coffee in the tin.

  5. Overhead view of clear snap lids being pressed onto filled tins by hand.

    Step 5: Apply the Lids

Lids are applied to each can of ground coffee by hand.

Fresh & Ready!

Locally roasted and waiting for you to enjoy!

Every tin you order was roasted, ground, filled, sealed and lidded by the three of us. If something isn’t right with it, you are talking to the people who made it.
